Free conference offers tips to help avoid becoming obese children

These are just some of the points for discussion which covered in free Saturday conference aimed at reducing childhood obesity in the County of Kent.
Healthy life styles for the Conference, sponsored by the great beginning of Kent County, coalition of parents, children will be held at Frederik Meijer Gardens and Park.
The coalition of parents is a State initiative consists of parents who work with local agencies and regularly communicate with legislators and to advocate for the well-being of children parents about 17,000 in Michigan, including approximately 450 in this area, school councils are involved, said great start collaboration Coordinator Judy Freeman.
80 People have been registered so far for the Conference.

Dr. Tom Peterson, executive director of the safety and health community, Helen DeVos children's Hospital, will discuss the problem of childhood obesity in the County of Kent.
At the end of the Conference, Dr. Joanna Dolgoff, a pediatrician from New York and childhood obesity specialist to discuss a program developed to combat childhood obesity, called "Red Light, Green Light, Eat Right," that has a success rate of over 90 percent, said Freeman.
