Glucose Meters

My insurance company has stopped covering test strips for my FreeStyle meter, and will only cover those for One Touch or Accu-Check. I know both companies have various models, but I'm totally unfamiliar with them. What I need is some recommendations before I choose.Does either offer one for forearm testing?(The reason I chose FreeStyle in the first place.)Thanks in advance for all responses! DonnaS>

If you use the toll free number, their customer service folks can lead you through what various meters they have available and give you the specifics of each. The website itself actually has a lot of information, too.
I've never used any other brand of glucose meters. I currently have two-- the One Touch Ultra 2 and a One Touch Mini. Both meters use the same strips, which is convenient. I've found them to be reliable, they do a 5 second test, and I can recommend either of those meters with no reservations. I use finger sticks, so I have no idea if they're forearm testing compatible.
The One Touch strips are pricey, but if you get your doc to specify how many tests a day he wants you do (or that you want to do), then the insurnace company should cover what you need for your one month or three month co-pay.
